A delegation of key clients from Cambodia’s power sector recently visited Strong Power. Both parties held in-depth discussions on Cambodia’s power sector development, future energy mix optimization, and potential collaboration, reaching a preliminary consensus on a long-term strategic partnership. Strong Power will soon dispatch a specialized team to Cambodia for on-site surveys to accelerate project implementation.

Cambodia Power Market: Opportunities and Challenges
As a rapidly growing Southeast Asian economy, Cambodia faces rising electricity demand, but its power system has several challenges:
Uneven electrification: Stable supply exists in major cities like Phnom Penh, but rural and remote areas still lack reliable electricity.
High reliance on imports and fossil fuels: Cambodia imports power from neighbors and depends heavily on fuel oil and coal, leading to a monolithic, costly energy mix.
Weak grid infrastructure: Transmission and distribution networks lag behind demand, causing high power losses and peak-hour shortages.
Renewable energy potential: Abundant hydropower, solar, and biomass resources remain underutilized due to insufficient technical support and investment.
The Cambodian government’s Master Plan for Power Sector Development prioritizes clean energy, grid stability, and rural electrification, creating a major opportunity for foreign companies with strong technical expertise and project experience.

Client Visit: Strategic Dialogue
The Cambodian delegation outlined local power sector pain points and planning needs, emphasizing the urgent demand for reliable, affordable solutions in distribution automation, smart grids, renewable integration, and microgrids for remote areas. Strong Power presented our capabilities in power equipment manufacturing, system integration, and overseas projects. The clients praised our equipment’s extreme-environment adaptability, intelligent O&M systems, and cost control. Both sides agreed that a long-term partnership would help upgrade Cambodia’s power infrastructure while strengthening our presence in Southeast Asia.
Next Steps: On-Site Survey
To assess local conditions, policies, and cooperation terms, Strong Power will send a multidisciplinary team (technical, engineering, commercial) to Cambodia for a field survey. Following this, we will produce a feasibility report and cooperation proposal, then sign a formal strategic agreement with our Cambodian partners.

Outlook: Building a Green, Reliable Power System for Cambodia
Electricity drives economic growth. Strong Power remains committed to providing sustainable power solutions along the Belt and Road. This engagement marks a key step in our Southeast Asian expansion. We are confident that through mutual collaboration, we can help Cambodia build a stable, green, intelligent power system—boosting local livelihoods and industrial development.
